Advising for Faculty and Staff

Academic Advising at FSU

Academic advising at FSU is more than helping students select courses. Advisors have the opportunity to develop a professional relationship with advisees to help them make informed decisions about their education and future. By providing students with accurate information in completing a degree program that meets their life goals, you play an active role in one of our students most impactful experiences at FSU.

Introducing Navigate

Navigate is a comprehensive Student Success Management System, built to improve student success and the student experience. The Navigate platform unites administrators, faculty, staff, and students in a collaborative network to measurably improve student outcomes through workflow solutions, student empowerment tools, and integrated analytics. The adoption of Navigate aligns with the Excellence in Academic Advising recommendation and commitment to leverage technology to enhance the effectiveness of advising at the University level.

Getting Started in Navigate

Navigate allows faculty and staff to quickly learn more about a student to better inform one-on-one interactions. Quickly review student information, communicate with students via email and/or text messages, schedule meetings, and document meetings and student interactions. At the University level, administrators can then use Navigate analytics to assess the impact of student success initiatives.

Download the Frostburg Quick Start Guide, which outlines the basic features of the tool, to explore what Navigate can do for you.
