      Goals & Objectives

  • Promote civic responsibility and knowledge about government and political processes;
  • Provide educational opportunities in public affairs;
  • Research public affairs topics with a focus on use of the Beall Archives;
  • Encourage broad participation in the political process.

     The Institute strives to reach these goals by:

  • providing scholarships to students pursuing careers in government, public service or public policy education
  • assisting in internship placement along with providing a stipend to student interns
  • encouraging scholarly research, and
  • convening forums on critical and controversial supercomputing meaningful exchanges between students, faculty, public servants, elected officials and community leaders.
