Master of Arts in Teaching

The MAT Application and admission process for both MAT Elementary and MAT Secondary is a continuous process with an admission date that begins only in the summer session (May). The application deadline is April 1; however, we encourage students to apply early in the process to assure that we are able to help guide you through this process and help you determine any needed prerequisites, testing requirements, and interview preparation.  A fall and spring interview cycle is scheduled each year.  Students who complete their application and take part in the fall interview cycle can receive an early admission decision for May.  Students who take part in the spring interview cycle should receive an admission decision no later than May 1, depending on the date of interview.  Students are encouraged to apply early to be assured time to complete the admission process.

Application Process:

1. Complete a graduate application 在线. FSU prefers students apply 在线 but those who do not have access to internet can request a paper copy at gradservices@icntv.net which can be downloaded and sent to FSU Graduate Services, 布洛克路101号., 马里兰州弗罗斯特堡21532. 

2. 提交 an official copy of all undergraduate transcripts to the Office of Graduate Services: FSU Graduate Services, 布洛克路101号., 马里兰州弗罗斯特堡21532. FSU accepts electronic transcripts.

3. Upon receipt of the transcript, your file will be referred to the Program Coordinator who will perform a transcript review to determine your prerequisite needs and the Program Coordinator will contact you or meet with you about next steps in the application process.
   
   
4. 提交 supplemental documents. Instructions for completing and uploading the following documents are provided at the time of the 在线 application.

   3. Three References - Students applying 在线 will provide name and email contact for 3 references and FSU will send an email request for electronic submission of the reference.  Students applying via paper application will be required to request references to complete recommendation 形式 or letters and send via US mail. 

5. Qualified and selected applicants will be invited for an interview. Interviews are held in November and March/April.  We encourage early application so that we can help guide and prepare you for the interview. Students who do not have an application on file cannot be considered for interview. 

When the application and transcripts are received, your file will be forwarded to the Program Coordinator for transcript review.  The Program Coordinator will contact you to make an appointment to meet either in person or by phone to discuss the program, 你的成绩单, any deficiencies and other items students need to know to progress through the admissions process.

Students who meet or plan to meet the prerequisite coursework requirements of the program will later be scheduled for an interview.  Following the interview, an admission decision can be made and communicated.  

The Office of Graduate Services is the office that will coordinate your documents for application.  All documents provided to other offices or the Program Coordinator will not be considered part of your official application; therefore, it is important that you have all original documents sent directly to the Office of Graduate Services at the following address:
