Entrance to the Theatre Program

The Department of Theatre and 跳舞 welcomes in-person and online auditions and interviews for artists joining  the Theatre major and/or Musical Theatre minor at Frostburg State University. 

In-person audition and interviews will take place in Frostburg State University’s prestigious Pealer Performing Arts Center. Join us on one of the following dates for a conversation with faculty and current students, a tour of our spaces, your audition/interview, and complimentary tickets to a show.

    • Saturday, December 2, 2023
      Miss Bennett: Christmas at Pemberley at 2:00 pm or 7:30 pm

    • Saturday, March 9, 2024
      Radium Girls at 2:00 pm or 7:30 pm

    • Saturday, April 20, 2024
      Martin and Margaret and the M.I.N.D.S.W.A.P at 2:00 pm or 7:30 pm

Details for Individual Tracks

Please see the following details about each area of focus in Theatre and how auditions can be submitted and interviews can be requested. We can’t wait to see your work!

  • Acting Track & Musical Theatre Minor 试镜
      • Required submission: Resume and audition
      • 地点:
      • Acting Track Audition Requirements:
        1. A monologue and sixteen bars of a Broadway song
          OR
        2. Two contrasting monologues
      • Candidates auditioning for the Musical Theatre minor 和 Acting Track should perform Option #1.
      • If you are auditioning for the Musical Theatre minor, use a recorded accompaniment (CD or downloaded karaoke).

  • Theatrical Studies
      • Required submission: 试镜/interviews are not required for this track, although you are welcome to join us for the audition or interview process to get to know us and meet with current students. Simply follow the criteria for either the Acting track or 设计 and Technology track.
